Anyone know a good recipe for a hand print ornament clay?

I am a teacher in an infant room. Every year we make the parents a hand print ornament out of homemade clay or dough. (Just like the kits you can buy in the store) We had a really good recipe that we used for 2 years, but we misplaced it. We have tried several recipes and have had no luck. We tried the cornstarch and baking soda w/water (air dry), but it just cracked all over. We tried a flour/salt/water recipe w/wallpaper paste, but it was to springy(you can't see the lines of thier palms and fingers). Does anyone have a good clay recipe for this? Air dry or bake in oven will work. Thank you so much!
